Container Loading Calculator
Determine how many boxes or pallets can fit inside standard shipping containers and optimize your volume utilization.
Loading Calculator
Provide container and item dimensions (in cm) to calculate total capacity.
1. Container Details
2. Item Details (Boxes/Pallets)
Total Capacity392items can fit
Volume Utilization70.98%of total container space
Optimal Loading Orientation: Rotated (Item Width along Container Length)
Assumes items can only be placed upright.

Loading Logic
Understand how the calculator estimates capacity.
To provide a realistic loading estimate, this calculator does not simply divide total container volume by item volume (which ignores physical geometry constraints). Instead, it calculates the discrete number of boxes that fit along each axis.
1. Calculate Fit per Axis
Length_Fit = Floor(Container Length / Item Length)
Width_Fit = Floor(Container Width / Item Width)
Height_Fit = Floor(Container Height / Item Height)
Length_Fit = Floor(Container Length / Item Length)
Width_Fit = Floor(Container Width / Item Width)
Height_Fit = Floor(Container Height / Item Height)
2. Determine Total
Total = Length_Fit × Width_Fit × Height_Fit
Total = Length_Fit × Width_Fit × Height_Fit
Note: The calculator automatically tests rotating the items 90 degrees horizontally to find the optimal orientation. It assumes items must remain upright.
Container Comparison
Compare how many of your current items (50x40x30 cm) fit across standard container sizes.
| Container Type | Total Boxes | Volume Util. |
|---|---|---|
| 20ft StandardCurrent | 392 | 70.98% |
| 40ft Standard | 840 | 74.59% |
| 40ft High Cube | 1,080 | 84.89% |
